The Drawing Interest Group is co-facilitated by two local art educators: Tara Morin and Ashley Norman. The guided component of the drawing group will be about artistic content, exercises and strategy. The lessons portion of the meetings will be a launching point for the remainder of the time together in the YAA Gallery space, in which each artist’s will work in the medium of their choice. Each artist is responsible for bringing their own drawing materials.
Free to YAA members and to non-members for this first introductory 4-week session.
Tara Morin is an Art Educator at Village Elementary School. She attended Bowdoin College and completed a Bachelor of Arts in 2005, with a major in Religion, focusing on Buddhism. She recently received a Master of Arts in Teaching in Art Education from Columbia College Chicago. She loves to learn and to share new knowledge with others through teaching. She has graciously offered to co-facilitate a the new drawing interest group at the York Art Association. To learn more about Tara visit, www.taramorin.com.
Her co-facilitator is Ashley Norman, Art Educator at Coastal Ridge Elementary School. Ashley received her BFA in Art Education from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design (MassArt), Boston, MA. She spent three years teaching Drawing I & II, Studio II, Ceramics I & II, and Darkroom Photography I & II at Lowell High School, Lowell, MA. Along with her experience in public schools she has taught in various other settings: private lessons, after-school programs, camps, and courses through the continuing education department at MassArt.
