Program Calendar

Throughout the year, the York Art Association hosts art exhibits, special interest groups and lectures by noted artists, curators, and creative thinkers.  We also host a variety of special events including music, dramatic and literary performances, parties, and fundraisers.  Please check this page regularly to find out about ongoing opportunities to explore your artistic interests and interact with other members of this active creative community.

     One Day Dustan Knight Watercolor Workshop 

    Saturday, May 14 from 10 to 3 pm

    BIG LOOSE and EASY , Five Hours All Levels of artists are invited to join Dustan Knight at her most popular watercolor workshop Just in time for Spring learn how to paint big glorious flowers full of color and vitality.

    Dustan demonstrates step by step as you paint along with her and the results are individual and expressive. Touching on composition and color as well as watercolor techniques like wet in wet painting and glazing, this workshop is designed to bring out the creative artist in us all.

    A one day workshop for all skill levels. Bring a bag lunch. 

    • YAA Members: $60 Non-Members: $75 
    • Payment due in full to reserve your place.
    • Space is limited to 10, so register early!
    • Full refund in case of cancellation by YAA
    • Bring your watercolor supplies, a list will be provided after registration

    Make a check payable to York Art Association for the appropriate fee amount ($60 YAA members or $75 non members).

    The YAA is participating in the "Make and Take"  fair at the York Public Library.  We will be running a Make and Take activity where participants create a Collage Post Card.     

    At least 2 volunteers are needed to help Corinne Gilman,  and any supplies you may be able to upcycle would be helpful!  ( painted  paper, color markers/ pens, colored paper, glitter glue, ribbon, wildlife magazines...)

    Enjoy a chance to get that favorite seaside gift or souvenir. Over 35 artists will present their products all from the seacoast region.

    A week long camp for youth ages 8 and older. This camp will be a combination of music and visual arts and presented as a joint program of St. Georges and York Art Association.  We are excited to launch this first week long camp and eager to continue to build the arts in our community for youth and families. Volunteers are sought to assist each day. Please contact gallery or would like further details on this camp.

    All exhibited work must be the original work and design of the artist. No imports, dealers, commercial art or objects made from commercial kits are allowed. Artist reproductions/prints must be signed and numbered by the artist in limited editions and must be labeled as such. THE SHOW WILL BE HELD, RAIN OR SHINE.

    Past Exhibitors: A non-refundable $125 fee must be enclosed with your application and postmarked by April 15, 2016.  

    Past Exhibitors need to respond by April 15 to reserve their spot from last year. 

    New Exhibitors: There is a $15 non-refundable jury fee for all new artists. All new artists must submit a minimum of 3 maximum of 7 images of recent work. A current bio and résumé of relevant experiences, include website address if you have one, along with jury fee. Images can be photos or jpg images provided on disc. Each image must include artist name, medium, size and title (if applicable) of piece. Please provide a #10 self-addressed stamped envelope if you wish to have photos returned. Acceptance or rejection notice will be mailed out within 4 week of receipt. All exhibited work must be the original work and design of the artist.

    New Exhibitors should respond as soon as possible. Space will be assigned after April 15 on a first come, first serve basis.

    Holiday Art Show and Sale

    This is a Holiday Art and Craft Show. Work being sold includes  artwork, metal arts, calendars,  jewelry, sculptures, fiber art, original art work, wood items and cards. Much more! Cookies and hot chocolate served! 

    Opening Reception: Friday, December 9, from 5 to 7 PM

    Artist info:  drop off on Monday & Tuesday, December 5 and 6 from 3 - 5:30 pm.
